Dolomites Mountain Vase, Sculpted Alpine Ceramic, Handmade Pottery

Handmade Dolomites ceramic vase — sculpted mountain landscape with a tiny alpine church climbing the slope, finished in rose-pink peaks, glacial blue, and alpine-meadow green. One of a kind, made in the Netherlands by a mother-and-son studio.

Only one exists in the world. Once it's sold, it's gone.

Like an Italian Alps postcard caught in clay. Rose-pink mountain peaks rise at the top — the very pink the Dolomites turn at sunset (the Italians call it enrosadira). A tiny sculpted church and a little car sit on a winding mountain road, while glacial blue rock-faces, snow patches, and a soft alpine-green meadow tumble down toward the base. The reactive glaze pools and crystallises in the kiln, leaving moss-like textures, copper veins, and tiny snow-bubble pools where the colours met.

At 19 cm tall, this is a generous size — large enough to hold a full bouquet of tulips or wildflowers, yet sculptural enough to display alone as a tiny mountain landscape.

Use it for:

✦ a tulip, alpine wildflower or dried-bouquet vase on a dining table

✦ a memory-keeper for a couple who hiked or honeymooned in the Dolomites

✦ a mountain or alpine decor accent on a sideboard, shelf or mantel

✦ a standalone sculptural piece in a reading nook or window

✦ a wedding-gift, housewarming, anniversary or retirement statement piece — especially for hikers, climbers and travellers

— THE DETAILS —

Width: approx. 13 cm / 5.1 inches at widest

Height: approx. 19 cm / 7.5 inches

Weight: approx. 1 kg / 2.2 lb

Shape: tall hand-sculpted mountain landscape with raised peaks, a miniature relief-sculpted church and car, and irregular rim

Materials: stoneware clay, food-safe reactive glaze, lead-free

Colours: rose-pink (enrosadira sunset), glacial blue, alpine green, deep navy and warm copper — with reactive glaze pooling and crystallising naturally

Each piece: 2–4 hours of careful handwork, then 48 hours in the kiln across two firings — no two are alike

Watertight — suitable for fresh flowers, full bouquets, or dried bunches

Care: hand-wash recommended; not microwave/dishwasher tested

Please note: as each piece is hand-shaped and the reactive glaze flows unpredictably in the kiln, dimensions, colour and pattern may vary slightly between vases. This is part of the charm of handmade work — every vase is truly unique.

— THE STORY —

We are a mother and son working side by side in a small Dutch studio. This particular piece was inspired by the Italian Dolomites — the way the limestone peaks glow rose-pink at dusk, the tiny chapels perched on impossible cliff roads, the quiet meadows below. Every detail is pinched, sculpted, glazed and fired by our hands — slow, quiet, and never two alike. The reactive mountain glazes are unpredictable: they crawl, bubble and pool in the kiln, creating the alpine surface you see here. We never know exactly what will come out — each piece is a small surprise.

— PACKAGING —
