Handmade Matcha Cup, Wabi Sabi Ceramic Tumbler, Dutch Coffee Mug
Incl. BTW
Handmade wabi sabi ceramic tumbler — for slow mornings, matcha rituals, evening coffee. Hand-sculpted with carved organic ridges, finished in cream, moss green, amber and earth-brown reactive glaze. One of a kind, made in the Netherlands by a mother-and-son studio. Only one exists in the world.
Like holding a piece of the forest in your hands. Cream and sage glaze rise through carved ridges at the rim, deepening into moss and copper in the middle, warming into rich earth-brown at the base. The perfect vessel for slow rituals — matcha whisked to a soft foam, a pour-over coffee, or evening tea.
At 15 cm tall and 9 cm wide, it holds a generous serving — a full pour-over, a rich matcha, or a long tea. Warm to the touch. Every angle reveals a different pool of glaze.
Use it for: ✦ your morning matcha ritual ✦ pour-over or drip coffee ✦ green tea or genmaicha ✦ evening chamomile or slow reading tea ✦ a meaningful gift for a matcha lover, coffee enthusiast, or wabi-sabi collector
— THE DETAILS —
* Width: approx. 9 cm / 3.5 inches
* Height: approx. 15 cm / 5.9 inches
* Capacity: approx. 350–400 ml / 12 oz
* Shape: organic cylindrical form with hand-carved ridges, slightly irregular
* Materials: stoneware clay, food-safe reactive glaze, lead-free
* Colours: cream, moss green, sage, amber and earth brown — with reactive glaze pooling naturally
* Each piece: 2–4 hours of careful handwork, then 48 hours in the kiln across two firings — no two are alike
* Care: hand-wash recommended; not microwave/dishwasher tested
Please note: as each piece is hand-shaped and the reactive glaze flows unpredictably in the kiln, dimensions and pattern may vary slightly. Small kiln kisses, tiny irregularities, and pooled glaze are part of the wabi-sabi charm — every cup is truly unique.
— THE STORY —
We are a mother and son working side by side in a small Dutch studio in Katwijk aan Zee, just a few streets from the North Sea. Every cup is rolled, sculpted, glazed and fired by our hands — slow, quiet, and never two alike. This one was sculpted from a memory of a walk through the dunes in autumn — moss on fallen leaves, the earth still warm underneath. The reactive glaze is unpredictable: it crawls, bubbles and pools in the kiln, creating the forest-floor surface you see here. We never know exactly what will come out — each piece is a small surprise.
— PACKAGING —
