From doily to lace bowl

How a crocheted doily from my grandmother's drawer became the starting point of my most iconic product line. The lace pattern is gently pressed into wet clay — each relief is unique.

After weeks of forming, drying, and glazing comes the most exciting moment: the firing. At over 1200°C the glazes melt and the deep colors that characterize my work emerge.

My whale sculptures are born from a fascination with the sea near Katwijk. The humpbacks and orcas are glazed in tones that suggest the water surface.
