Kantschaal — Pink Turquoise

Handmade pink and turquoise ceramic bowl — pressed by hand with vintage lace, finished in rose blush, peach, cream and seafoam glaze. One of a kind, made in the Netherlands by a mother-and-son studio. Only one exists in the world. Once it's sold, it's gone.

Like a wildflower opening in the early morning. A turquoise pool sits at the centre, surrounded by petals of peach and cream, all wrapped in a soft rose-pink scalloped rim. Every centimetre of the surface carries the imprint of vintage lace, pressed deep into the wet clay. The reactive glaze pools and crystallises in the kiln, leaving glassy tidelines where the colours met — pink kissed amber, amber blooming into seafoam, seafoam deepening to ocean blue.

At 27 cm across, this is a generous size — large enough for fruit, bread or a centrepiece, yet quiet enough to display as a daily catchall or simple work of art.

Please note: as each piece is hand-shaped and the reactive glaze flows unpredictably in the kiln, dimensions and pattern may vary slightly between bowls. This is part of the charm of handmade work — every bowl is truly unique.

— THE STORY —

We are a mother and son working side by side in a small Dutch studio in Katwijk aan Zee, just a few streets from the North Sea. Every bowl is rolled, lace-pressed, glazed and fired by our hands — slow, quiet, and never two alike. We collect vintage lace doilies — pieces our grandmothers stitched — and press them into wet stoneware. The cloth burns away in the kiln, but the pattern stays forever. The reactive pink-and-turquoise glaze is unpredictable: it crawls, bubbles and pools in the kiln, creating the watercolor surface you see here.

Wrapped with care in recycled tissue paper, packed in a sturdy box with extra cushioning for safe travel, and tied with natural twine. Every order includes a handwritten thank-you note from our studio.
