Kantschaal — Rainbow Sunset

Handmade rainbow ceramic bowl — large statement piece pressed by hand with vintage lace, finished in rose-pink, sunset orange, gold and seafoam mandala glaze. One of a kind, made in the Netherlands by a mother-and-son studio.

Only one exists in the world. Once it's sold, it's gone.

Like a stained-glass rose window caught in clay. A delicate floral mandala blooms at the very centre in soft seafoam and lilac, surrounded by radiating petals of sage, sunset gold and orange — all framed by a deep rose-pink scalloped rim. Every inch of the surface carries the imprint of vintage lace, pressed by hand into the wet clay. The reactive glaze pools and crystallises in the kiln, leaving glassy textures and watercolour-soft tidelines where the colours met.

At 30 cm across, this is a generous size — large enough for a centrepiece, a generous fruit or bread bowl, or a dining-table feature, yet elegant enough for a coffee-table object or styling piece.

Please note: as each piece is hand-shaped and the reactive glaze flows unpredictably in the kiln, dimensions and pattern may vary slightly between bowls. This is part of the charm of handmade work — every bowl is truly unique.

— THE STORY —

We are a mother and son working side by side in a small Dutch studio. Every bowl is rolled, lace-pressed, glazed and fired by our hands — slow, quiet, and never two alike. The reactive rainbow glazes are unpredictable: they crawl, bubble and pool in the kiln, creating the stained-glass surface you see here. We never know exactly what will come out — each piece is a small surprise.

Wrapped with care in recycled tissue paper, packed in a sturdy box with extra cushioning for safe travel, and tied with natural twine. Every order includes a handwritten thank-you note from our studio.
