Tulpenvaas — Coral Sunset
VAT included
Handmade coral tulip ceramic vase — hand-sculpted with an opening bloom silhouette and a small dark leaf rising from the centre. Finished in coral pink, rose, sage green and iridescent reactive glaze. One of a kind, made in the Netherlands by a mother-and-son studio. Only one exists in the world. Once it's sold, it's gone.
Like a tulip caught in the moment of opening. Two petal-peaks rise in warm coral and rose, with a dark leaf unfurling between them — while below, a rocky sage-green landscape holds it steady. Made in the Netherlands, home of the tulip — a small piece of Dutch springtime, in clay.
At 15 cm tall and 12 cm wide, this is a perfect statement size — generous enough for a small bouquet of dried grasses or wildflowers, striking enough to stand alone as sculpture on a shelf, sideboard or mantel.
Use it for: ✦ a single tulip stem, small bouquet of dried grasses, eucalyptus or wildflowers ✦ a sculptural accent on a mantel, sideboard or bookshelf ✦ a floral, wabi-sabi or Dutch-inspired decor piece ✦ a meaningful housewarming, wedding, or anniversary gift — especially for tulip lovers, gardeners or Netherlands travellers ✦ a self-gift for lovers of soulful, one-of-a-kind objects
— THE DETAILS —
* Width: approx. 12 cm / 4.7 inches
* Height: approx. 15 cm / 5.9 inches
* Shape: organic tulip-bloom silhouette with two petal-peaks and sculpted leaf, slightly irregular
* Materials: stoneware clay, food-safe reactive glaze, lead-free
* Colours: coral pink, rose, dusky blue, sage green — with reactive glaze pooling and crystallising naturally
* Each piece: 2–4 hours of careful handwork, then 48 hours in the kiln across two firings — no two are alike
* Care: hand-wash recommended; not microwave/dishwasher tested
Please note: as each piece is hand-shaped and the reactive glaze flows unpredictably in the kiln, dimensions and pattern may vary slightly. This is part of the charm of handmade work — every vase is truly unique.
— THE STORY —
We are a mother and son working side by side in a small Dutch studio in Katwijk aan Zee, just a few streets from the North Sea — and about 45 minutes from the tulip fields. Every vase is rolled, sculpted, glazed and fired by our hands — slow, quiet, and never two alike. This one was sculpted from a memory of spring in the Bollenstreek — the moment a tulip catches the light and opens. The reactive glaze is unpredictable: it crawls, bubbles and pools in the kiln, creating the watercolor petals you see here. We never know exactly what will come out — each piece is a small surprise.
