Tulpenvaas — Sunset Bloom

Handmade sunset ceramic vase — large statement piece hand-sculpted with overlapping petal reliefs, finished in coral pink, blazing orange, soft yellow, sage and lilac glaze. One of a kind, made in the Netherlands by a mother-and-son studio.

Only one exists in the world. Once it's sold, it's gone.

Like a sunset folded into a flower. Hand-sculpted petals climb the body of the vase from a soft lavender base, through a band of glowing yellow and turquoise, into deep orange and rose at the shoulders, and finally into rich coral-pink at the rim. The reactive glaze pools, drips and crystallises in the kiln, leaving glassy textures and copper-flecked tideline where the colours met and melted into one another.

At 22 cm tall, this is a generous size — large enough to hold a full bouquet of tulips, peonies or pampas grass, yet sculptural enough to display alone as a centrepiece of art.

Please note: as each piece is hand-shaped and the reactive glaze flows unpredictably in the kiln, dimensions, colour and pattern may vary slightly between vases. This is part of the charm of handmade work — every vase is truly unique.

— THE STORY —

We are a mother and son working side by side in a small Dutch studio. Every vase is pinched, sculpted, glazed and fired by our hands — slow, quiet, and never two alike. The reactive sunset glazes are unpredictable: they crawl, bubble and pool in the kiln, creating the painterly surface you see here. We never know exactly what will come out — each piece is a small surprise.

Wrapped with care in recycled tissue paper, packed in a sturdy box with extra cushioning for safe travel, and tied with natural twine. Every order includes a handwritten thank-you note from our studio.
