The studio

A small studio by the North Sea.

We are Jolanda and her son — working side by side in a quiet studio in Katwijk aan Zee, a coastal village where the sea breeze finds its way into every piece.

For the bowls, we collect vintage lace doilies — pieces our grandmothers stitched — and press them into wet clay. The lace burns away in the kiln, but the pattern stays forever.

For the vases, we sculpt from memory — mountain peaks, coral reefs, birch bark, the petals from a walk. Each piece carries a small landscape inside it, and exists exactly once.
